Biography
Some people are born into fitness. Others stumble into it. I was the latter.
It first started in 7th grade when my P.E. teacher told me I was fat. By high school, I had joined the swim team and competed in water polo—but had a lingering, self-conscious feeling about how my body fit into the required swimwear. For a long time I thought cardio was the answer, but the results were lacking. I needed to know why.
I pursued a degree in Exercise Science, and in my constant drive to know more, I discovered strength training. From that point on my life (and thankfully my body) were forever changed. By holding myself to a disciplined approach to weights and nutrition, I dropped 30 pounds, gained muscle and most of all, recaptured my confidence. Notice I didn’t say a thing about cardio.
Now, after completing multiple personal training and biomechanics courses, as well as obtaining key nutrition certifications, I’m taking everything I’ve learned and dedicating my life to helping others reach that “aha” moment I discovered years ago.
But life is all about balance. So, when I’m not working with people like you, I’m playing chauffeur to my three boys, spending time with my husband, traveling, and reminding myself to stop and enjoy every hectic moment.
