I began strength training in 1997, when I was a freshman in high school. The first day of weight training, everybody had to take a bench press test, and I was the only person in the entire class that couldn’t complete a single rep with an empty 45-lb bar, including the women in the class. Since then I have completely engrossed myself in strength-training culture, and have put on over 80lbs of mostly muscle since that first day in weight training class. I have been lucky enough to take what started as a hobby and turn it into a successful career. I’m a big believer that many common injuries, aches and pains that sedentary people experience can be solved with simply increasing overall body strength.
